What is the purpose of the UAA, and the purpose of the UAA Fund?

The purpose of the UAA is to be a lifelong UNITECH network for inspiration, connection and growth. The UAA Fund enables the UAA to achieve this purpose by:

1. Providing financial support for future UNITECH Students who face financial hardship.
   
   
2. Providing opportunities to students & alumni outside the UNITECH programme, to further enhance the UNITECH purpose: to create young technology leaders for a sustainable future e.g. OneYoungWorld.
   
   
3. Supporting the UAA to provide development activities and learning opportunities, such as educational programmes e.g. GiveLearn

What is the hardship fund?

This fund is reserved for selected UNITECH students who face financial hardship. Starting in 2025, incoming students can apply for financial support during their academic exchange. The maximum available amount per scholarship is €200 per month for up to 6 months to support the living expenses of the academic exchange.

How will the donations to the UAA Fund be distributed?

The funds will be distributed by the UNITECH office, in close collaboration with the UAA. Satisfying the requirements of the hardship fund takes first priority in fund distribution (point 1 above). Any remaining monies will be directed towards points 2 & 3 (aforementioned), the exact breakup of which will be decided by the UAA Council.

How can I stay updated on the impact of my donation?

The contributions to & distributions of the fund will be reported annually and transparently in the UAA General Assembly, with the UAA Finances. In addition, the UAA will share impact statements on our social media channels. These updates will highlight the impact of your contributions, inform you of upcoming events, and provide other important news.

Why should I contribute?

In addition to supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds, UNITECH has provided graduates with career-boosting opportunities. We don’t charge membership for the UAA, because we want to remain as inclusive as possible. The UAA fund is a great way to give back to the UNITECH community.
